💊 Actions

Tonifies Qi and raises Yang, stabilizes the exterior and stops sweating, promotes urination and reduces swelling, generates flesh and promotes wound healing. Used for chronic fatigue and weakened immunity.

Contraindications

Contraindicated in patients with excess heat and fullness. Contraindicated in cases of severe hypertension. Do not use with ginseng without consultation.

📖 Usage & Dosage

Decoct 9-30 grams in water. For cooking: add to soup with chicken for tonic purposes.

Astragalus is a plant that grows in mountainous regions of the Middle East. The gum extracted from it (tragacanth) was used in Arab folk medicine as a demulcent. Recently, it has become known as an immunity booster in health food stores.
