💊 Actions

Dispels wind-dampness, warms the channels and strongly stops pain. Classically used (only after processing and prolonged decoction) for cold-damp painful obstruction, severe cold joint and abdominal pain, cold hernia, and traumatic pain. Highly toxic (cardiotoxic/neurotoxic aconitine).

Contraindications

Highly toxic. Strictly forbidden in pregnancy, lactation, children, and heart disease. Use only the processed, detoxified form, decocted first and for a long time; never with raw aconite, Pinellia or Fritillaria-type incompatibles, or alcohol. Raw aconite can be fatal in a tiny dose. Never self-medicate; use only under a trained practitioner and where lawful.

📖 Usage & Dosage

Traditionally 1.5-3 g, processed only and decocted first for a long time; given its toxicity this is for historical reference, not self-use.
