Promotes urination and unblocks painful strangury, clears heart heat and relieves vexation, unblocks menstruation and promotes lactation. Used for heat lin, heart-fire mouth ulcers, amenorrhea and scanty milk. Only safe varieties (Chuan Mu Tong) may be used; aristolochic-acid Guan Mu Tong is prohibited. Forbidden in pregnancy.
