San Ao Tang
San Ao Tang
💊 Actions
Diffuses the lung and releases the exterior, stops cough, and calms wheezing according to traditional Chinese medicine.
🏥 Indications
Traditionally used for an exterior wind-cold invasion with constrained lung qi, marked by nasal congestion with a heavy or lost voice, or wind-cold exposure with headache, dizziness, tight and tired limbs, cough with copious sputum, chest oppression and shortness of breath, absence of sweating, a white tongue coating, and a floating pulse. Because it contains ephedra (Ma Huang), it must be used only under a qualified practitioner's supervision and with caution in high blood pressure, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, and glaucoma, and during pregnancy; it is not suitable for wind-heat exterior patterns or for qi and yin deficiency.
