Xia Guan (ST7)
📍 Location
On the face, anterior to the ear, in the depression between the zygomatic arch and the mandibular notch; located with the mouth closed, the hole closes when open.
🏥 Indications
TMJ disorder, lockjaw, toothache, facial paralysis, ear pain, and upper-tooth pain.
🖐️ Stimulation method
With the mouth closed, perpendicular or slightly oblique insertion 0.5–0.8 cun.
⚠️ Contraindications
Keep the mouth closed; deep upward insertion is forbidden.
