Huan Tiao (GB30)
📍 Location
In the gluteal region, at the junction of the lateral third and medial two-thirds of the line joining the most prominent point of the greater trochanter and the sacral hiatus; located lying on the side with the hip flexed.
🏥 Indications
Pain of the lower back and hip, atrophy and painful obstruction of the lower limb, hemiplegia, sciatica, urticaria; a key point for painful obstruction of the waist and leg.
🖐️ Stimulation method
Perpendicular insertion 2-3 cun; the needle sensation may radiate down the leg; moxibustion applicable.
⚠️ Contraindications
Lies deep near the sciatic nerve; avoid blind deep needling; to be performed by an experienced practitioner.
