Summer is the Fire element, the Heart organ, the color red, the emotion joy. It is the time of abundance, activity, and expansion.

Characteristics of Summer

  • Element: Fire 🔥
  • Main organ: Heart and Small Intestine
  • Direction: South
  • Nature: Qi rises and spreads
  • Emotion: Joy (healthy in moderation)
  • Flavor: Bitter (enters the Heart)

Summer Recommendations

🛌 Sleep

  • Wake up early: with the sun
  • Sleep slightly late: but before 11 PM
  • Short nap: 11 AM–1 PM (Heart time) — 20–30 minutes
  • Do not oversleep: causes dampness

🍽️ Food

Recommended foods:

  • 🍉 Watermelon (the best summer food!)
  • 🥒 Cucumber, zucchini
  • 🍅 Tomato
  • 🌿 Mint, coriander
  • 🍵 Green tea (cooling)
  • 🫘 Mung bean

Foods to avoid:

  • Excess spicy and grilled foods
  • Excess ice cream (weakens the Spleen!)
  • Cold carbonated drinks

🏃 Exercise

  • Best time: morning before the heat
  • Intensity: moderate — do not sweat excessively
  • Time: 6–8 AM
  • Water: drink before, during, and after

😌 Emotions

  • Practice: moderate joy, laughter
  • Avoid: excessive excitement
  • Warning: excessive joy harms the Heart!

Beneficial Heart Points

Point HT7 (神门) — "Spirit Gate"

  • Location: wrist crease, ulnar side
  • Benefit: calms the Heart, treats insomnia and anxiety
  • Method: press for 3 minutes in the evening

Point PC6 (内关) — "Inner Gate"

  • Location: inner forearm, 3 fingers from the wrist
  • Benefit: nausea, anxiety, palpitations
  • Method: press gently for 2–3 minutes

Signs of Heart Imbalance in Summer

  • Palpitations, irregular heartbeat
  • Insomnia, many dreams
  • Sweating on the forehead, especially during the day
  • Redness of the face
  • Constant thirst
  • Anxiety, agitation
  • Mouth ulcers

🔥 Rule: In summer, be like a blossoming tree — open, active, giving. But do not forget rest and hydration. The Heart loves moderation, not excess!
