凡刺之真，必先治神，五臓已定，九候已备，后乃存针。
Pinyin
Fán cì zhī zhēn, bì xiān zhì shén, wǔ zàng yǐ dìng, jiǔ hòu yǐ bèi, hòu nǎi cún zhēn.
English Translation
In all true acupuncture, one must first regulate the spirit. Only after the five zang organs are settled and the nine pulse indicators are fully prepared should the needle be retained.
