概述
Xue Yu (Blood Stasis) is a pathological state in Traditional Chinese Medicine characterized by impaired blood circulation, sluggish movement, or extravasated blood that fails to disperse, leading to stasis. It is a common mechanism underlying various diseases and is addressed primarily by promoting blood circulation and removing stasis.
理論要點
- Blood stasis arises when blood flow is impeded, moving slowly or stagnating, or when blood that has left the vessels (extravaasated blood) is not promptly resolved.
- The movement of blood depends on Qi; when Qi moves, blood moves. Qi stagnation or Qi deficiency can both lead to blood stasis.
- Cold congeals blood, causing sluggish circulation, while blood heat can thicken or force blood out of vessels, contributing to stasis.
- Trauma or injury can directly damage vessels, leading to local blood stasis.
- The core treatment principle is to invigorate blood and resolve stasis, often combined with therapies that address the root cause, such as moving Qi, warming the channels, or supplementing Qi.
常見病機
- Pain is a hallmark symptom, typically stabbing or cutting in nature, with a fixed location, aggravated by pressure, and often worse at night.
- Lumps or masses may form, and bleeding can occur with dark, clotted blood.
- Manifestations include a dark or dull complexion, scaly or rough skin, a purple-dark tongue possibly with petechiae or ecchymoses, and a wiry or knotted pulse.
日常調養
- Maintain regular physical activity to promote smooth circulation of Qi and blood.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to cold and damp environments, and keep the body warm.
- Manage stress and emotional well-being, as emotional stagnation can impede Qi and blood flow.
